SMRT Removes Live Train Arrival Timing Feature

SG Train Status

In January 2026, SMRT Singapore has discontinued the live train arrival timing feature that previously showed commuters the estimated arrival time of the next train. This affects all platforms that displayed real-time train arrival information for SMRT-operated lines.

What Has Changed

The live train arrival timing feature, which previously showed commuters the estimated arrival time of the next train in minutes, is no longer available.

Affected MRT lines include:

  • North-South Line (NS)
  • East-West Line (EW)
  • Circle Line (CC)
  • Thomson-East Coast Line (TE)

What Information Is Still Available

While real-time arrival data is no longer accessible, commuters can still access the following information:

  • First Train Timings - Know when the first train departs from each station
  • Last Train Timings - Plan your late-night journeys with accurate last train information
  • Train Frequency - View typical train frequencies during peak and off-peak hours
  • Station Information - Access station details, facilities, and exit information

How This Affects Your Journey Planning

For most commuters traveling during regular hours, this change has minimal impact as trains typically arrive every 2-4 minutes during peak hours and 5-7 minutes during off-peak hours. The first and last train information remains crucial for those traveling early in the morning or late at night.
