F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026: Which MRT Station to Use at Marina Bay Street Circuit

The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2026 returns to the Marina Bay Street Circuit from October 9 to 11, 2026 - and this year's edition is historic: Singapore hosts its first-ever F1 Sprint weekend, meaning competitive racing on all three days, not just Sunday. More than 100,000 spectators will move through the circuit park each night.

With road closures already in effect around Raffles Avenue and Temasek Avenue since August, the MRT is the only sane way to the track. Here is the station-by-zone guide.

Which station for which zone

  • Zone 1 & Padang Stage: City Hall (EW13/NS25) or Esplanade (CC3) - the Padang is a short walk through the City Hall underpass. City Hall handles the biggest crowds after the final race on Sunday
  • Zone 4 & Padang: Esplanade (CC3) on the Circle Line is often less crushed than City Hall and exits directly toward the Raffles Avenue side
  • Zones near the Float / Bay grandstand: Bayfront (CC34/DT16) via the Downtown Line exits
  • Promenade (CC4/DT15) serves the eastern edge of the circuit near the Paddock Club and Turns 1-3
  • Nicoll Highway (CC5) is the quiet back door - useful for Zone 2/3 gates and avoids the worst of the post-race crush

Getting out at night - what to expect

Race nights end around 10:30pm, and the surge to the stations lasts about 45-60 minutes. Circle Line and North-South Line add extra trains, but queues at City Hall, Esplanade and Bayfront are guaranteed.

  • Walk one station further: Bras Basah (CC2), Downtown (DT17) or Marina Bay (CC33/NS27/TE20) are 8-12 minutes on foot and dramatically quieter after the race
  • Last trains: on race weekends, operator extended hours have historically applied for the Sunday race night - check the first/last train timings page in race week for confirmed late-running schedules
  • Bus stop changes: bus stops along Raffles Avenue (outside The Float @ Marina Bay) are skipped from Aug 4 to Oct 12 for circuit preparation - plan any bus leg accordingly

Sprint weekend changes the schedule

Because Singapore hosts the final Sprint round of the season, Friday and Saturday both feature competitive sessions - Sprint Qualifying Friday and the 100km Sprint race Saturday before Sunday's Grand Prix. Concert headliners across the 10 stages include Lana Del Rey (Singapore debut) and The Killers, so late-night crowd flows will be heavier on all three nights, not just Sunday.
